Kenneth Harrington's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Willard Harrington, 83, of Lovettsville, Va, died Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Baltimore VA Medical Center. Born on Jan. 24, 1923 in Morrsionville, VA.
He was son of the late Howard G. Harrington and the late Helen (Baker) Harrington.
Mr. Harrington served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served at D-day Omaha beach, in the battle of Normandy.
Mr. Harrington was very active in the community. He was a member of the VFW post 3285, the American Legion post 0293, a charter and life member of the Lovettsville Fire and Rescue Squad, and the Lovettsville Game Club. He was a founder of the Boy Scouts in Lovettsville, VA, and was a former Mayor of Lovettsville.
Mr. Harrington was the owner and operator of Kens Decorating Center for 35 years, and Kens Floor Service prior.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Beryl Marie (Sarver) Harrington of Lovettsville, One Son, Gary Harrington of Lovettsville, Two grandchildren: Amy Harrington of Leesburg, and Zachary Harrington of Radford, VA; and niece: Linda Ruegg of MD.
Mr. Harrington was predeceased by his sister Ruth Lee Smith in March of this year.
Graveside services will be held at Lovettsville Union Cemetery at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 16, 2006.
