Kenneth Lee Bates' Obituary
Kenneth Lee Bates, age 59 of Leesburg, VA passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Heritage Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 29, 1952 in Frederick, MD. Kenny was the eldest of seven boys; the son of Edward F. Bates, Sr. of Frederick, MD and the late Peggy Joan Hite Bates. Kenny grew up in Luckett’s and lived in Loudoun County for most of his life. He was employed by VDOT for 36 years, and Johnsons House of Beef until the restaurants closing. He also was a maintenance worker for Virginia Knolls Community Association until retiring due to his declining health.
Kenny was a member of the Loudoun Baptist Temple.
In addition to his father, Kenny is survived by his step father, William Bates of Martinsburg, WV, his six brothers, Eddie Bates of Front Royal, VA, Ronnie Bates of Leesburg, VA, John Bates of Leesburg, VA Ricky Bates of Warrenton, VA, Buck Bates of Winchester, VA and Bobby Bates of Martinsburg, WV; 11 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, and many family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2011, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
Services will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
Interment will follow in Furnace Mountain Cemetery, Lucketts, VA.
