Kent Manley Jackson Jr.'s Obituary
Kent Manley Jackson Jr. passed away on September 23, 2024 at his home in Chantilly, VA.
He was born Wednesday, July 24, 1968, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Kent Jackson Sr. and Lucy Wall (Jackson) Slagle.
Kent is preceded in death by his father, Kent Manley Jackson Sr. and his father of 46 years, James Arthur Slagle, both of Lynchburg, VA.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Jackson of Chantilly, VA, his sons, Kent “Jack” Jackson III, Grayson Jackson (mother-Susan), both of Centreville, VA, Ryan Hodge-Ellison, and his daughter, Lyndsay Hodge(with wife- Chrissy), both of Chantilly, VA, His mother, Lucy Slagle of Lynchburg, VA, and his brother William “Scott” Jackson (Zynda) of Fuquay Verina, NC, sisters in law, Sharon Stone (Ray), Sandy Loar (Michael) and Debbie Vance (Kevin), brother in law, Daniel Hodge, Jr. (Kim) and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Kent was a fan of all things sports related and supported his home teams. He enjoyed coaching his son’s sports teams, playing golf and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He liked to go on long drives to explore new places. He loved to fish and be by the water. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid fan of cooking shows. He was always excited to try a new recipe.
Kent worked as a Package Car Driver for UPS. There he made many friends. He was always kind to his customers and always had treats for their dogs. He was a special and caring person.
His love and dedication to family and friends was unmeasurable. Kent was genuine, accepting and kind to everyone. He had a great sense of humor and a unique way of looking at life. He liked to share stories and just have fun wherever he was. His laughter was contagious and his smile lit up even the darkest day. He has left an unfillable void. The world needs more people like him. He was/is truly loved and will surely be missed.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be on November 03, 2024 @ 1:00pm at: Vine and Branches Lutheran Church
