KRISTEN SIMS's Obituary
With the passing of a very beloved angel sent to heaven, Kristen Michelle Sims, (better known as Krissy) the world is a sadder place without her. Krissy was born in Leesburg, Virginia on April 30, 1972, to Ruth Sims and Vanderzee Whitney. Krissy graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1993, alongside her sister Janet Sims. Krissy was employed at Echo in Business Services for years and was recently employed at Strykers as a production specialist, which was her favorite job. Krissy won medals from competing in the Special Olympics as she played a game called “Hibachi.” She also enjoyed other hobbies included bowling, eating with friends and family, watching movies, listening to music, and playing cards for money.
Krissy couldn't go anywhere around the town of Leesburg without knowing somebody, as she was very popular and had numerous friends. Always had an unconditional amount of love for her family and always had a soft spot for her nieces and nephews. She would spend lots of her free time on the phone, calling friends and family every day to check up and make sure everyone was doing well. Krissy always had a smile on her face no matter the time of day. She also had an unbelievable great memory, as she always remembers everyone’s birthday.
Krissy was predeceased by her Mother Ruth Sims, her father Vanderzee Whitney, her brother Paul Sims and Laurence Whitney and sister’s Jaqueline Sims, Stephanie Thomas, Ambrose Whitney, and Geraldine Powell. She leaves behind her sisters Beverly Scott, Janet Sims, Veronica Whitney, Maxine Layne, and Evelyn Reeves (Hebert); and brother Darnell Whitney; Nieces and Nephews Tikisha Cue, Tiffany Cue, Jahmal Cue, Jasmine Cue, Tyrel Ashton, Jacelyn Scott, Tariq Sims, and Tevion Cosentine.
Krissy was loved by many and is sure to be missed. Her happiness and smile will never dim as her bright spirit will live on forever.
Krissy’s celebration of Life will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir SE, Leesburg, VA 20175, on Monday May 15, 2023. Viewing starts at 12:00pm, with the service beginning at 1pm.
