Larry M. Stinger's Obituary
LARRY MAURICE STINGER, 60, a resident of Washington, DC since 1952, died on Wednesday June 6, 2007 in Washington. Mr. Stinger was born in Leesburg on February 22, 1947 to the late Charles A. and Anna Melva Jackson Stinger. He attended DC public schools: Taylor Elementary, Brown Junior High and Spingarn High before matriculating at Shaw University. Mr. Stinger served his country in the United States Army for 20 years before retiring. After retiring he worked with his brother Berk on many unique home-remodeling projects in Washington. He was a member of First Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Mr. Stinger is survived by his wife Marianna Stinger; two sisters: Marian Brooks of Washington, Manzellar Grace Ford of Laurel, MD; four brothers: Mervin Jackson of Leesburg, VA, Charles Stinger Jr. of Washington, Rev. Dr. Harold S. Stinger of Vienna, VA, William Berkley Stinger of Washington; three sister-in-laws: Jean Jackson, Sara and Barbara Stinger; nieces: Teresa Brooks, Vernita Jackson, Kim Stinger, Michelle Edwards, Darlene Stinger, Shanika Goldsberry, LaTanya, KiAnna, Jazmyne and Indya Brooks; godson: Harold Brooks III; Nephews: Harold Brooks Jr., Marvin Frye, Darryl Stinger, Charles Stinger III and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the First Mt. Olive Baptist Church 216 Loudoun St. Leesburg, VA on Tuesday June 12, 2007 from 10am until the time of services at 11:00 with Rev. Dr. Harold N. Brooks Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Community Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
