Laura Jean Beaver's Obituary
Laura Jean Beaver, 85, of Ashburn, Virginia passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Lansdowne, Virginia. Mrs. Beaver was born December 26, 1927 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Charles William Larsen and Dorothy Gwendolyn Fox. She was also predeceased by her husband: John Charles Beaver, Jr. in 1975 and a brother, William Larsen. Mrs. Beaver graduated from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in 1947. After marrying the love of her life she moved to Northern VA and raised her family in Mantua Hills. Mrs. Beaver (Nana) was a devoted mother and doting grandmother who loved animals, had an excellent sense of humor, was an avid knitter and an exceptional cook.
Mrs. Beaver is survived by her beloved four children: Laura Anne Beaver (Teddy), John Keith Beaver (Tracey), Susan Beaver Truba (Gregory), Charles Douglas Beaver, all of Northern Virginia; a brother: George Larsen of MA; four grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathan, Jack and Alison.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 11am until the time of services at noon with Chaplain Gary Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Beavers name to Ashburn Fire Department, 20688 Ashburn Rd, Ashburn, VA 20147 to help purchase a Lucas Automated Chest Compression Apparatus or to a charity of your choice.
