Lauren K. McDarby's Obituary
Lauren Katherine (Loucks) McDarby, age 60, was killed by a suspected drunk driver Jan 4, 2019, while doing something she loved – running. She was born in Hudson, New York to Katherine and Lawrence Loucks and married David McDarby in Valatie, NY in 1981.
She is survived by her husband, David and two daughters, Elizabeth and Colleen McDarby, Her sister Karen Baillargeon (Loucks) and her husband Neil, brother Thomas Loucks and wife Cindy, brother Daniel Loucks and wife Eva, sister Jennifer Greene (Loucks) and husband Bobby, and several nieces and nephews.
Lauren worked in the Loudoun County Public School System for 14 years, primarily at Loudoun Valley High School and Blue Ridge Middle School. She retired in June of 2018. She enjoyed running, walking, quilting and just being outside working in her gardens. She was an active member in the Zion Lutheran Church making quilts and prayer blankets for those in need and helping with Vacation Bible School.
A memorial service to celebrate Lauren’s life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Lovettsville, VA on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:30 am. A fellowship gathering will follow the service at the Lovettsville Game Protection Association, 16 S. Berlin Pike, Lovettsville, VA. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 38011 Morrisonville Road, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
