Lawrence (Larry) Farrell, Sr.'s Obituary
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Lawrence (Larry) Farrell, Sr. departed this life to enter into a peaceful rest in eternal glory with God the Father at Loudoun Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Larry was the son of Carter Charles and Cora Ann Farrell. His siblings preceded him in death. Larry was born in Washington, D.C. and educated in the D.C. public schools. Shortly after completing High School, he developed an amazing talent for playing the drums (a.k.a. Mickey) and went on to play for several bands, one being The Three of Us Trio and Lloyd Price along with other artists. After he ended his musical career, Larry went onto driving for the Yellow Cab Company in Washington, DC. Afterwards, he began driving for Capital City Limo and that is where he met his longtime companion of thirty-seven years, Amy Anderson who preceded him in death. Larry adored Amy, Carla, Michael and their furry friend “Diva.” His heart beat was his grandson, Austin (Winky) Farrell. He enjoyed his daily social gatherings with friends at the Loudoun Senior Center of Leesburg. He was well liked by the staff and community. He would speak very highly about their gatherings and all the delicious food that they would serve, but especially how much everyone cared for one another. Larry will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Keeping the fond memories, he leaves his three children, Lawrence Farrell, Jr., Kenneth Farrell, Lori Nichols and Stepdaughter, Carla Anderson, Four Grandchildren with honorable mention of Austin (Winky) Farrell. His loving and faithful neighbors, Sue and Chad Dow, Emil and Martina Martic of Leesburg, VA and a host of relatives and friends.
