Lawrence S. Hough's Obituary
LAWRENCE S. HOUGH, 87 of Leesburg, Virginia passed on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
Born Sunday, October 28, 1934 in Loudoun County, VA, Lawrence was a son of the late Elbert Hough and Elizabeth Mock Hough.
A lifelong Loudoun County resident, he grew up on Old California Road, currently Edwards Ferry Rd. Lawrence was raised in the Nazarene church and was known to be mischievous throughout his life.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 11th Airbourne division, serving in Germany and Lebanon.
Upon returning, he worked on various farms around the area and owned and operated LS Hough Trucking, where he delivered rock and gravel that was used to help build some of the local highways, including Rt. 7 and Rt. 28. In his later life, Lawrence worked with the Metropolitan Transit Authority as a mobile lounge driver at Dulles Airport.
Lawrence was deeply devoted to his family and loved socializing with friends old and new. He could often be found at local events, including bluegrass concerts in Lucketts, Leesburg, and Round Hill; the Luckett's Fair; and carnivals in Loudoun and MD.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann Beaver Hough, son L. Kelly Hough, and his brothers, Eugene and Charles Hough.
Lawrence leaves behind his family to cherish his memory including his daughters, Stacey Wagner, and husband Roy, and Anna Grimes; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and George Reed; sisters-in-law, Nora Hough and Margaret Hough; four grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous other close family and friends.
A memorial service will be held by the family privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lawrence’s memory to assist veterans, to the Boulder Crest Foundation, 18370 Bluemont Village Lane, Bluemont, VA 20135.
