Lawrence S. Murphy's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence S. Murphy, “Larry” 80, of Leesburg, VA, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Virginia Hospital Center.
Born on July 5, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana; he was a son of the late Lawrence Murphy and the late Thelma Jean Sering Murphy.
Larry was the Owner/Operator of the Sterling Exxon from 1966 to 1986. Later he worked for VA Ground Cover, formerly T.J. Crouch & Son as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Murphy, of Leesburg; his daughter: Bonnie J. Muth, Winchester, VA; his son: Ronald S. Murphy, Leesburg, VA; step-daughter: Virginia L. Blaylock of WV; two sisters: Margaret C. Batchelor, El Cajon, CA, and Rosetta M. Edwards, Clearmont, NC; one brother: Tom Murphy of CA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grand children, numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was predeceased by his two brothers, Jerry and Pat Murphy.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA 20175, where the family will receive guests from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 and where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM.
Interment will be held privately.
