Leonard Edward Johnston's Obituary
Leonard Edward Johnston, 63, of Leesburg since 2003, formerly of Burke, Virginia died suddenly on Monday, May 17th 2010 in Leesburg. Mr. Johnston was born October 16th 1946 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Johnston was a contract specialist with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command at the Washington Navy Yard for the past 38 years. He was a Scout Master for 20 years with Troup #1347 in Burke. Mr. Johnston loved biking and kayaking, was an avid woodworker and an automobile enthusiast.
Mr. Johnston is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Bonnie L. Johnston of Leesburg; a son: Christopher Aaron Johnston (Christina) of Martinsburg, WV; his mother: Priscilla Pope Johnston of Plymouth, Massachusetts; seven siblings: Thomas, Maureen Shepherd, David, Jeffrey, Roger, Deborah Pallucchio, Heidi Hooper; three grandchildren: Seneca, Warren and Ryan Johnston; and a host of other relatives and friends. His father, David Wright Johnston predeceased him.
Friends may call on Friday, May 21st 2010 from 6-8pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA. Graveside services with military honors will be held at a date and time to be determined at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
