Lester Andrew Blackburn's Obituary
Lester Blackburn, 75, of Paeonian Springs, VA, passed away on June 3, 2014.
Lester was born on March 4, 1939 to the late Luther Andrew Blackburn and Edith Madeline Raines Blackburn.
He was married to the late Charlotte Thomas Blackburn for 48 years. He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from William A. Hazel.
Lester is survived by his loving family, daughters Donna Dugas (Chris) and Shannon Anderson (Rob) and son Alan Blackburn (Doug Ferrara); Six grandchildren, Derek Lee, Erin Lee (Charles); Chad and Thomas Dugas, Brooke and Taylor Anderson and one great-grandson Charlie Porch; Brothers Harold Blackburn (Karen) and Jerry Blackburn (Margaret), sisters Iris Jenkins Cooksey (JC) and Freda Mahoney as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Lester was preceded by his sisters Avery Stickley and Charlotte Wright and an infant brother Van Blackburn.
You will be so missed and the time we've had with you seems too short. We'll always remember your smile, being there for Mom, and the love we have for you will always be in our hearts.
A special gathering will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr., SE, Leesburg, VA 20176. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11am at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 124 Park Street, Vienna, VA 22180.
