LISA COOLEY CARPENTER's Obituary
Lisa Cooley Carpenter of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, after a courageous 15-year battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late John and Patricia Cooley.
Born on April 14, 1960, in Quincy, Massachusetts, Lisa grew up in Marshfield, Massachusetts, and graduated from Thayer Academy in 1978. She attended Brigham Young University, earning a degree in Communications. She spent most of her career in accounting and finance - first with State Street Bank in Boston and later with KPMG in Northern Virginia. She retired in 2019. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Rick; stepchildren - Jaclyn Clines, Andrea Koon, Michael Carpenter, and Amy Carpenter, all of Utah, and Cynthia Carpenter of Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Debra Haislip; nieces Ashley Hamilton and Kristen Brown; nephew John Haislip - all of Georgia; nine grandchildren; a beloved aunt; and many cousins and dear friends.
A viewing for Lisa will be held on February 21, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 801 Balls Bluff Rd NE, Leesburg, VA 20176, at 11:00am, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm.
