Lisa Jennifer Cox-Black's Obituary
Lisa Cox-Black
(age 68)
Native of the Washington area, Lisa lost her
battle with pancreatic cancer on July 22, 2021
at the Adler Center for Caring in Aldie, VA.
Lisa was predeceased by her parents, Lt. Col. Philip S. Cox (Ret.) and Gwendolyn Nottingham Cox.
Spunky, good-humored, and fiercely independent,
Lisa leaves behind her sister and friend, Gale C. Robertson;
her brother and faithful supporter, Col. Robert S. Cox (Ret);
her brother-in-law and ally, Glen W. Robertson.
She was deeply devoted to her niece,
Kay R. Couch, and nephew, Scott W. Robertson.
Spencer Cox, Marika Robertson, Joe Couch,
5 great nieces and nephews, and her North Carolina Cheney cousins
filled her small but treasured family.
Lisa was a tireless worker, with many years
in managerial roles at Satellite Business Systems and MCI .
More recently, she worked for the Allergy and Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics.
In semi-retirement, Lisa sought charity work and volunteered at
the Austin Public Library and the Salvation Army,
where her grandfather, Sidney E. Cox, was a onetime leader.
Genealogist, pianist, solo world traveler, and occasional hang glider, Lisa’s truest passion was for her
family, whose lives will be forever sweetened by her memory.
The family gratefully requests memorial contributions to:
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org).
A private ceremony honoring her will be held at a later date.
