I live in England and checked up on the internet to see if Lisa's email address had changed, because I hadn't heard from her for a long time, couldn't understand why she hadn't answered emails and hadn't had the usual family photo of the gorgeous Soong family at Christmas. We had moved house and I thought Lisa was just busy with her lovely family, like I have been busy with my kids, too. This is her birthday month. Then I found this page.
Lisa was my best friend in Chapel Hill High School. We sat beside each other in Symphonic band playing our clarinets (She was way better than me). Lisa was a major sunshine light in my life in high school and beyond. We had a motto song called 'Be young, be foolish but be happy'. I have great memories of us going out in Chapel Hill, Lisa making my family laugh when she was at ours, Lisa sitting on her extra cushion (to cover the hole in the driver's seat!) in her European sporty car driving and laughing while changing gears, our prom night together, our trips to Boston and New York with our band member friends. I also had the pleasure of going to Madrid for a summer semester with Lisa whilst at University, where we were room mates.
"Lisa was one of the kindest people I have ever met", my husband Alan says. He first met Lisa when she came over to our wedding in London. All my friends in England loved meeting her and my family all loved Lisa.
We are terribly sad that Lisa's family have had this tragic heartbreak happen.
Everyone loved Lisa wherever she went. She was vivacious, extremely POSITIVE - guaranteed- she could be relied upon to be positive!, FUN, warm, friendly, easy to talk to, super company to be with, pretty, beautiful, great at sports, great at school, a good girl who did all she was supposed to do. I know that Lisa was happy to have her loving husband and wonderful children.
I knew you were busy, Lisa, but I took it for granted that you would be around forever becasue you were so full of life. You were a bright spark in every way and I miss you very much.
