There are certain people who bring light into every room they enter. Donna was one of those rare individuals. She had an effervescent personality, a radiant smile, and a laugh that was contagious. I worked with Donna for the last 4 years. She was my manager, mentor, and friend. No matter how busy the day or how challenging the task, she had a way of making everyone feel at ease, as if for that moment, you were the most important person in the room.
But what truly set her apart was her ability to reach beyond the work. She didn’t just ask about deadlines or deliverables; she wanted to know you—your interests, your family, what made you tick. She built real connections, ones that went beyond emails and meetings.
One of the things she spoke about most often—and with the deepest love—was her family. Though I never had the chance to meet Peter, Everly, and Alydia, I felt as though I knew them through the stories she shared every day. She would light up as she talked about life’s little moments—their triumphs, their challenges, the simple joys of being together. It was clear her girls were her world, and she and her husband were devoted to doing everything they could to help them chase their dreams, especially their passion for ice skating.
Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the impact she made on me will never fade. She was a bright light, a kind soul, and a truly special person. I was lucky to know her, and I will carry her memory with me always. My heart goes out to the Livingston and Smojice families during this most difficult time.
