Lois Pate Kelley's Obituary
LOIS PATE KELLEY (CRONIN), 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at home surrounded by her family in Ashburn, Virginia.
Born in Pickens County, Alabama on Saturday, October 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Earnie Pate and the late Mattie Pate. Lois was a hairdresser in New Orleans, Louisiana for many years until her retirement in Covington, Louisiana. She was a cheerful and positive child of God, an avid member of the church, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, crafting, reading, cooking, and playing card games. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, love, and laughter.
Lois is survived by her son, Nathan Poe (Conchy); devoted granddaughter, Jennifer Molina (Omar); Brenda Taquino (Lawrence); and Leslie Perez. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Jaden, Juleana, Alister, and Lawson, as well as several loving nieces, nephews, and friends across multiple states who spared no distance to visit her. Preceding her in death are ten brothers and sisters, as well as her spouse James Cronin and later in life her spouse Ben Kelley.
A funeral mass will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 21371 St. Theresa Lane Ashburn, Virginia 20147 with Father John O'Farrell officiating.
Lois will be laid to rest on Saturday April 6, 2024, at 11am, at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1, Calvary Mausoleum in New Orleans, Louisiana.
