Lorine Evelyn Bryant's Obituary
Lorine Evelyn Bryant, 59, of Broadlands, VA passed away in the early morning hours of November 10, 2022, at home in the company of her family.
Lorine was born at Bergstrom Air Force Base near Austin, TX to Richard and Karen Bryant. Being a family of service Lorine moved many times with stops in Virginia, New York, Connecticut, California, and returning to Texas. She graduated from Thomas C. Clark High School in San Antonio and attended college at University of Texas, San Antonio, and the University of London.
Lorine’s professional life included teaching, insurance, recruiting, and program analysis. However, her passion was helping people. She served as a Daisy, Brownie, and Girl Scout troop leader as well as volunteering with the local swim team, Broadlands Live, and many school events.
Her most impactful volunteer effort was as a teacher and program coordinator with the English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Crossroads United Methodist Church. In her almost 20 years in this capacity, she personally improved the lives of more than 2000 students and their families allowing them to achieve personal goals and be more a part of their communities. Lorine enjoyed traveling, learning, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She loved Italian and Tex-Mex food along with a good glass of wine. Lorine is known for her positive, friendly attitude and a natural demeanor for making people feel comfortable. Her pure joy of living, kindness, and desire to help others are how she will be most remembered.
Lorine is survived by her husband Andy Stephenson (Ashburn, VA); daughter Macy Stephenson (Richmond, VA); sister Danielle Bryant (San Antonio, TX); brother and sister-in-law Rick and Lisa Bryant (Cedar Park, TX); nephew Zachary Bryant and his wife McKayla (Yukon, OK); and niece Taylor Bryant (Fort Worth, TX).
