Lorna Denise Ambers-Reynolds' Obituary
Lorna Denise Ambers Reynolds departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA at the age of 52.
She was born on January 10, 1969 in Norenberg, Germany to Arnold L.H. Ambers, Sr. and Barbara Pernell McQueen Ambers. Upon the completion of her father’s military career, the family relocated to Washington, D.C. shortly after her birth. Raised in Leesburg, Virginia, Denise attended Catoctin Elementary School, J. Lupton Simpson Middle School and graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1987.
She initially pursued her higher education at the University of Pittsburgh; but transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) during her sophomore year to study Economics. After completing her studies, Denise returned to Northern Virginia to pursue an accounting career in the automotive industry. She held several accounting and leadership positions with various dealerships including Coleman PowerSports, Rosenthal Automotive Group and BMW of Sterling. Prior to becoming the long-standing Corporate Controller at The Virginia Tractor headquartered in Orange, Virginia, Denise co-owned and operated a successful catering company and cafe, A Taste of Dulles and Cool Beans Cafe, along with her long-time college friend.
Her life and salvation was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Known for her beautiful and infectious smile, her open heart and giving spirit, she will be missed by all.
Denise is survived by both of her parents, her husband Reginald and their two children, a daughter, Riley and their son Reece, her maternal Grandmother Lorna McQueen, a special Uncle Wayne Ambers, her brother Arnold Jr., sisters, Joy (Michael) and Sylvia, three nieces Asia, Jordan and Koa, two nephews, Isaiah and Xander, a host of loving family members, and life-long friends.
