Malea Renee Kanoho's Obituary
MALEA RENEE KANOHO, 38, of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 in Lansdowne, VA. Mrs. Kanoho was born March 13, 1974 in Long Beach, CA to Chief Electricians Mate, Glenn A. Wallis, USCG and Patty Manis Wallis. As a military child she moved several times but spent several years in Hawaii and Alaska. She met the love of her life Jason Kanoho at Seatle Tacoma International Airport where they fell in love and was married September 6, 1996. They had lived in Honolulu, Hawaii prior to returning to Ashburn in 2009. Mrs. Kanoho was a member of Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg. She was also active in the community and the Ashburn Youth Football League as a coach’s wife and team mom. During her battle with cancer she fought for equal rights among victims as well as supporting many causes battling for a cure. She was a loving, giving and strong woman that loved to be there for others. She never gave up her fight to survive and always had faith to live, love and laugh. Even in tremendous pain she always put others first and made them feel special. She is the definition hope faith and love.
Mrs. Kanoho is survived by her beloved husband, Jason Noeau Kanoho of Ashburn; six children: Jaylene Uhls of Graham, WA, Keala Moeai of Graham, WA, Marc Wallis of Ashburn, Justyn Phillips of Kent, WA, Dallas Kanoho of Ashburn, Breauna Kanoho of Ashburn; her Mother: Patty Manis Wallis of Lawrence KS; her father: Glenn A. Wallis of Spring Valley San Diego, CA; a brother: Glenn A. Wallis Jr. Menifee, CA; two sisters: Shalera Reanier Northglenn, CO, Shantell Wallis of Oskalooka, KS; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10:00 am followed by a celebration of life and light lunch at 11:00 am. Interment will be private at a later date in her final resting place in Seattle, WA.
