Margaret Hattie Knapek's Obituary
Margie H. Knapek, 76, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Fairfax, VA. Margie was born in Burlington, TX, on February 23, 1938, to Henry and Hattie Helpert, the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, in 1959, with a degree in Elementary Education. She enjoyed her 16 year career in education as a preschool teacher, elementary school teacher, and librarian. She then went on to work in Accounts Receivable for Chevron Oil Co. in Concord, CA for 10 years.
On November 25, 1961, Margie married her devoted husband of 53 years, Joe Knapek, and had two daughters. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her husband, and children: Lori Bugaj and husband, John; Karen D'Amato and husband, Vic; and by her four grandchildren.
Margie was an extremely friendly, kind, and caring person. When you met her, she made you feel like you were part of her family. She was dearly loved and is deeply missed.
Friends were invited to a Memorial Mass at St Theresa Parish in Ashburn, VA on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Masses may be said at St Theresa Parish in Margie's name, or donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.
