Margaret Mildred Reisman's Obituary
Peg Reisman, 91, of Leesburg VA, formerly of Savannah GA, passed away on June 16, 2017. Peg was born in Putnam, NY on October 21, 1925 to Mary Connoly Beebe and Roswell M. Beebe. She left home to join the Cadet Nurse Corp and graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Amsterdam, NY in 1947. She obtained her BS degree in nursing from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1953. She was employed at the Veteran’s Hospital in Albany, NY from 1953-1955 after which she entered the USAF obtaining the rank of Captain. She met her husband Louis, a fellow Officer, in Omaha, Nebraska. They retired to Savannah, GA in 1972 after he completed a career in the USAF. She continued her education, graduating with a Masters in Education from Armstrong State College in Savannah, GA. She was an instructor at South University from 1975-1982 where she designed and implemented the classroom instruction portion of the Medical Assistant degree program. She moved to Leesburg, VA in 2012 to be close to family.
Peg is predeceased by her husband, Louis Reisman, of 45 years and her brother Edward Beebe of Hartford, NY. She is survived by her four children, Louis Reisman Jr., DDS (Joyce C. Gulle, MD), Marie Victoria Reisman (Earl Denty), Sylvia Ann Reisman, Laura Rae Reisman (Teofilo Bacungan), five grandchildren, Louis Reisman III, Jesse Reisman, Patricia Reisman, of Savannah, GA, Joshua Denty of Leesburg, VA and Christopher Bacungan of Austin TX, Sister -in-law, Eleanor Beebe of Hartford, NY, four nieces, Paula Kelly Johnson of Athens, GA, Pam Kelly Cohen of Atlanta, GA, Susan Kelly Biedinger of Birmingham, AL and Catherine Beebe Murray of Hartford, NY.
She was a long time communicant and member of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Savannah, Ga.
Peg was a loving mother and devoted spouse. She will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit.
On Friday, July 28, 2017, a Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at St. James Catholic Church in Savannah, Georgia at 10 AM followed by a 2 PM burial service with military honors at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
