Marjorie Bechtel Blair's Obituary
MARJORIE BECHTEL BLAIR, 85, of Potomac Falls, Virginia, passed away on October 6th 2010. Mrs. Blair was born November 21st 1924 in Roanoke, Illinois and was raised in Eureka, Illinois. She attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois and had a career as a stewardess with Northwest Orient Airlines before marrying in 1954 and starting a family.
The Blairs lived in McLean, Virginia from 1962-1996 where Mrs. Blair enjoyed serving as a volunteer with Fairfax County Public Schools and the Fairfax County Agency for the Aging. She also was an active volunteer at Vinson Hall Retirement Community for over 20 years. In 1996, the Blairs moved to Falcons Landing Retirement Center in Potomac Falls, where she continued her volunteer efforts.
Mrs. Blair is survived by her two beloved daughters, Catherine Blair of Dallas, Texas, Marilynne Blair of Sterling, Virginia, and granddaughter, Jessica. Her husband, Capt. Richard E. Blair, USN Retired, a sister and brother predeceased her.
Services and inurnment will be held privately at a later date.
