Mark Anthony Rossi Jr.'s Obituary
Mark Anthony Rossi, Jr. passed from the loving embrace of his family and friends on Friday, September 20th, 2024. He was 60 years old.
The first-born child of Mark and Mary Ellen Rossi, Mark was born on December 28th, 1963 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Upper Moreland High School, and matriculated to Lafayette College, where he starred on the soccer team before graduating with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He married Stephanie Ziegler on December 7th, 1991, and was the beloved father of four children: Mark, Alex, Sam, and Jake.
Mark’s career was wide ranging and entrepreneurial - from starting out as a project engineer with PJM Interconnection, to founding Barker Dunn and Rossi at the age of 33 as co-President and CFO, to serving on a variety of boards in the utilities industry in recent years. He was deeply involved in his children’s school communities, serving on the Board of Directors as both a member and Chairman for both Loudoun Country Day School and Notre Dame (then Middleburg) Academy.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mark will be remembered for his incredible generosity of time and spirit, his deep love for and pride in his wife and children, and his dedication to waking up early to catch the latest Liverpool soccer game. He could always be depended upon for honest advice, a helping hand, and a ready smile.
Mark is survived by his loving family: his wife, his four children, his parents, and his two sisters.
His funeral service will be held at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 27th with a small reception beginning at 10:00 AM, and the service to begin at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, from which his much-adored “little shadows,” Pippa and Lucy, were rescued in 2016.
