Mark Alan Young's Obituary
MARK ALAN YOUNG, 62, of Loudoun County, Virginia, sadly passed away on January 7, 2025.
Mark was born on July 24, 1962, in Akron,Ohio. His parents, Kenneth Alan Young and Maryellen Steiger Young Hanis predeceased him. He is survived by his son Greg (Erin) Young, two sisters, Lynda (Steve) Meier and Cindy (Bruce) Boyce, his beloved granddaughters, Sydney & Bentley along with many cousins and nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Mark valued service to others and preparedness. He briefly served in the United States Army and later worked as a volunteer EMT and firefighter, teaching CPR and fire fighting skills as well. As a boy scout leader, he enjoyed imparting valuable life skills, outdoorsmanship, and first-aid to young people. Mark had a diverse work life from security services to his latest as a school bus dispatcher for Loudoun County Public Schools.
Mark loved riding motorcycles and had been a long term member of the Fairfax H.O.G. group, participating in Rolling Thunder and other events.
His neighbors, family and friends will tell you that Mark was always ready to help at a moment’s notice whether to shovel snow, provide handyman services or just an ear to listen.
Mark will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever be remembered for his unwavering commitment to helping others and his love for Harleys, his much loved German Shepard, Shae, and his family.

A memorial service will be held February 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia www.loudounfuneralchapel.com.
