Mary Jane Barnes' Obituary
Jane Barnes was born to William and Gladys Blackwell on June 24, 1951, in Jackson, MS. The family soon moved to Pensacola, FL. Except for a brief time in Indiana, Jane grew up and attended kindergarten through Junior College in Pensacola. While in Indiana, her father passed away. Jane’s mother eventually married Clarence Hanks. Jane was known for her happy smile and gift of encouragement. She was a sweet and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher’s and administrative assistant, and pastor’s wife. As the wife of a Baptist Associational Missionary in Alabama for 18 years she became a friend, mentor and encourager to many additional pastor’s wives. Jane is survived by her husband, Larry of Lexington, SC; her daughter, Angela of Lexington, SC; her son, Russell of Arlington, VA; a sister, Judy of Sammamish, WA; four grandchildren, Allison, Luke Kate and Riley and a host of loving family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Church of Loudoun, a fellowship that she truly loved. Jane passed into the presence of Christ on September 9, 2025. Her bright smile and loving hug will be missed by all.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
