Nanny 1/6/23-1/26/09
I have memories of your flowers ,
And you playing with my hair,
The gentle strokes you gave me
Showed how much you cared.
I love the songs you used to hum,
So softly in my ear,
When you started to slip away
I tried to hide my tears.
I watched as you recognized,
Your memory slipping away.
Pained by tasks you couldn’t do
More each and everyday.
I am thankful that my children,
Got a glimpse of you
Before you started slipping
Down the path you’ve just gone through.
I am happy now that you are with,
Pop and all your friends
Regaining control of who you are
No longer left to depend.
As you lay there peacefully
Today I will not cry
I know your in a better place
Where Alzheimer’s can’t survive.
Go happily forever after,
Nanny you will be missed
Please smile on us from time to time
And please give Pop a kiss.
All my love,
