Mary Jane Nacy's Obituary
Mary Jane Nacy, 89, of Washington D.C., passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Spring Arbor of Leesburg, VA. Mary Jane was born on Aug. 8, 1926 in St. Louis, MO. She was one of ten children to the late John Mossinghoff and the late Cathryn Sandbothe Mossinghoff.
Mary was a wonderful homemaker for her family and a devoted Catholic. She loved gardening and reading. From D.C., she retired to Chincoteague, VA until needing additional care when she moved to Leesburg, VA.
She leaves her family to cherish her memory including her beloved husband of 63 years, the Honorable Joseph R. Nacy, of Washington, D.C., a sister Elizabeth “Betty” Murney of Missouri, a sister Dolores “Lori” Mueller of Florida, and her children; daughter Maria Nacy Pi and husband Francesc Pi of Barcelona, Spain, son Matthew Nacy and wife Kari Nacy of Purcellville, VA, and son Christopher Nacy of Pittsburgh, PA. She was the devoted grandmother of 5 grandchildren, Stephen Nacy, Suzanne Nacy, Megan Saunders, Marcel Pi, and Savannah Nacy; and 4 great grandchildren, Lily Nacy, Ashton Saunders, Sebastian Saunders, and Esmond Saunders.
Memorial services and interment will be held privately in Chincoteague, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Chincoteague Island Library, 4077 Main Street Chincoteague Island, Virginia 23336-2407.
