Mary Barbara Penn's Obituary
Mary Barbara Penn, 93 of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024. Born in New York June 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara Kozak. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Edmund Stanley Penn. Mary is survived by their only son James, daughter-in-law Nancy, and 3 granddaughters Helena, Stephanie, and Natalie.
Mary spent most of her life in New York raising her son James. She had several jobs including a bank teller and factory worker at an Estee Lauder cosmetics plant. After James moved to Virginia in 1989 to pursue a new career, Mary and Edmund moved to Leesburg in 1994. As both Mary and Edmund were now retired, Mary found an opportunity to join the Gotta Dance Troup as part of Loudoun County Seniors. She loved dancing in Gotta Dance Troup for several years. Mary also helped out as James married his wife Nancy in 1993 and had their first child Helena in 1997. She loved taking care of her granddaughters.
Mary spent the final 10 years of her life at Ashby Ponds assisted living and long-term care.
A Prayer Service will be held on June 27, 2024, at 6:00PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, VA 20175.
