Mary Beth Smith's Obituary
The Lord lifted Mary Beth Smith (Oswald) of Ashburn in the palm of his hand on December 12, 2021. Mary spread her wings and ascended into the heavenly kingdom, surrounded by loved ones at home.
Mary was predeceased by father Louis Oswald (Eddie) and survived by mother Elizabeth Oswald (Betty.) She is survived by her fiancé Chris Moore, her daughter Kelly McCahren and son-in-law Justin McCahren, grandchildren Sydney, Carleigh, and Malorie McCahren; Brother Billy Oswald and wife Leyla, Sister Susan McGaha and husband Dennis and Sister Patty Gibson, husband Larry and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born on October 7, 1959 in Arlington, VA; Mary was a loving daughter, caring sister, proud mother, fun aunt, magnificent nana and giving friend. She worked tirelessly as a business data analyst at Peraton.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Mary had many passions and interests. She loved to water ski, crochet and listen to music. Yet, most of all, she loved spending time with family and her beloved granddaughters. She affectionately called them her “nuggets” and loved to attend their many sporting and life events.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on December 17, 2021 at Leesburg Church of the Nazarene followed by burial at Sterling Cemetery in Sterling, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Church of the Nazarene 17667 Roxbury Hall Rd.
