Mary Jo was my Mom's best friend and I enjoyed the times we spent together when she came to visit. For years I heard the story of when MaryJo and My Mom and few other classmates went to Ocean City on Senior skip day. My Mom had packed a salad for a snack to enjoy on the beach. She had to leave the beach to go to the restroom. When she returned to eat her salad, she found all the croutons were gone. My Mom was upset about this, because it is one of her favorite toppings. After a short time had passed, her friends finally confessed that they fed the croutons to the Seagulls that were hovering over head. As anyone knows, when you go to the beach Seagulls are like vultures looking for free food. When I graduated in 2004, I wanted to recreate this scenario with a few friends of mine....but it happened to rain on Senior Skip Day. So my plans were cancelled. With Mary Jo's passing maybe my Mom and I will go to Ocean City and feed the seagulls... "In Memory of Mary Jo."
With Sympathy,
Monica Linda Blake
