Mary E. Barnhouse's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Barnhouse, 87, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at College View Nursing Home in Frederick, MD. She was the beloved wife of the late Irving F. Barnhouse who died February 20, 1986. They were married August 8, 1945 and were residents of Lucketts their entire married life. Mrs. Barnhouse was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Garrott and the late Sarah Ann Harmon. She was born February 28, 1922 in Brunswick, Maryland.
Mrs. Barnhouse was a homemaker, but in later years worked at Lucketts Mini Mart and Lovettsville Mini Mart. She worked at the Lucketts Mini Mart until she was eighty years old where she enjoyed seeing many of her friends. In the early 60’s she worked at Town & County Dress Shop and Whites Department Store, in Leesburg. She was a member of the Faith Chapel Presbyterian Church in Lucketts.
Mrs. Barnhouse is survived by her son, Frank Barnhouse of Brunswick MD a daughter, Linda and husband Ronnie Everhart of Shepherdstown, WV; and one grandson Mark Everhart; her two sisters: Evelyn Wilson and Audrey Williams both of Brunswick, MD. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Barnhouse and brothers Martin Garrott, Frank “Peachy” Garrott and Clifford “Tiny” Garrott.
Graveside services and Interment will be held at Union Cemetery 323 North King Street, Leesburg, VA 20176, on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 11:00 am with Fletcher Hutcheson, Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Barnhouse to the Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance, 200 West Potomac St., Brunswick, MD 21716 and to Faith Chapel Presbyterian Church 14188 Chapel Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176.
