Mary Cooper, 89, a lifelong resident of Loudoun County, died Sept. 18 in Leesburg.
Friends may call Sept. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg. The funeral service will be held on Sept. 22 at 1 p.m., with burial following at Union Cemetery in Leesburg.
Ms. Cooper was born June 3, 1918, in Oatlands to the late George Cleveland and Bertie T. Powell of Leesburg. Ms. Cooper was a homemaker most of her life, then later employed for 22 years by Col. and Ms. Michael Grenata of Leesburg. Ms. Cooper was a longtime member of the Church of God in Manassas.
She is pre-deceased by her husband John Alvin Cooper, and two daughters Doris Dockery and Betty Haynes. Survivors include her son George Cooper and daughter Mary Ross of Leesburg, grandchildren Mary Shouse and husband Bill, Patty Powell and husband Robert, Sandy Tomberlin and husband Guy, Christina Ross and fiancé Matt O’Donnell, Charles Haynes Jr., Angela Shultz, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Donations may be made in memory of Ms. Cooper to the Church of God Building Fund, 8823 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA 20110.
