I was very saddened and shocked to hear about Matt's passing. Along with fellow member of the "gruesome threesome" Joe Weise, Matt, and I would meet up for our weekly haunts of a Baltimore Goth club called Orpheus. I would drive over to his house since he lived very close to me in Sykesville, then I'd drive over to Joe's and we'd head on down to Baltimore from there. We'd spend the night drinking, dancing, laughing, and just having fun times. We'd hang out at Joe's and play some D&D or watch movies. Matt, Joe, and I all went to Liberty High School, but they were a year ahead of me and I really didn't know them in school. It wasn't until I started working with Joe at Rite Aid that I met him, got to know him, and then got introduced to Matt.

Matt was always very soft spoken and you never really knew what lurked beyond his silence until you got to know him. He was very bright and also had a great sense of humor. Those days of Orpheus and hanging out at Joe's were some of the best times of my life.

One of my memories of Matt is that I discovered how soft-spoken, kind and generous he was. He was a big guy with a big heart.

I have several good memories of Matt. The one that stands out, was of him being a good listener. Not something many people are good at. Most people are just waiting for you to finish talking so they can have their turn. The example I am thinking of, I had told him I don't like wine, I had tried wine, not my thing. I had told people this in the past and they always responded by giving me some horrible red wine, the suggesting pink Zinfandel, and then concluding I was hopeless. Instead, Matt asked me about wines I had tried and foods I liked and so on. When I saw him next he asked me to try a wine he had brought. To my surprise, I liked it. he had actually listened. Not a huge thing, but a rare skill.

He is missed.

I only met Matt once and that was at his sister, Terri's wedding, aboard the Grand Princess on a week long wedding cruise. He seemed to be having a good time hanging out with his parents, Marty and Joan. Wish I could've gotten to know him better. Peace and love to Matt and his family.

Always looked forward to seeing Matt at games night. Got to experience the Oculus Rift because he was an early adopter and brought it to show everyone. Really a super nice guy. We all wondered where he went lately. Condolences to his family and friends.
