MAURA MCGINN PRATT's Obituary
MAURA ANNE McGINN PRATT, 44 of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
She was born on Thursday, August 30, 1979, in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Maura graduated from Centreville High School, and George Mason University with an MA in Education.
Maura taught at Providence Elementary School in Fairfax and Bull Run Elementary School in Centreville, VA, prior to becoming the Assistant Principal at Terra Centre Elementary School in Burke, VA, until retiring in 2020. One of her favorite hobbies was being a "Baseball Mom"!
Maura leaves her family to cherish her memory including her beloved husband, Gary Pratt; three children: Brody Wayne, Gavin Richard, and Brooklynn Anne; her parents, David and Dorothy McGinn of Clifton, VA; her brothers Mark & Lynn McGinn of Kingwood, TX, Brendan McGinn & Michele Shakeshaft of Washington, DC; her nephew Jace Wright, nieces, Ellie Wright and Meredith Maura McGinn; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 5 to 8 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at St. Theresa Catholic Church located at 21371 St. Theresa Lane Ashburn, Virginia 20147. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday morning at the church prior to the mass from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
Interment will be held privately by the family at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bluemont, VA.
