Melvin Lee Partlow's Obituary
Melvin Lee Partlow, 83 of Ashburn, VA died on Monday, January 26, 2009, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center in
Lansdowne, VA.
Born Sunday, October 11, 1925 in Savage, MD, he was a son of the late Nelson Lee Partlow and the late Frances
Mathews Partlow. Mr. Partlow was a graduate of Ashburn High School in 1942. He served his country in the U. S.
Army Air Corp. during WWII .
In the 1960's, Mr. Partlow worked with his brother in Partlow Brothers Store. Melvin became the rural Letter Carrier
for the Ashburn Post Office serving in Ashburn and Herndon until retiring. He was a member of Ashburn
Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
Surviving are daughters, Gail P. Thornton, of Ashburn, VA, daughter, Sherry A. Partlow of Leesburg, VA, son
Matthew M. Partlow of Brambleton, VA, 4 grand children; 3 great grand children.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Myers Partlow in 1986, and his brother, Calvin Nelson Partlow.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin
Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery,
Leesburg, VA.
