For me, Meraf has been to go to If I wanted to talk or hear about our family who left us already and she would tell me their story as if they are all are here living in harmony again.
My grand mother(Aregash) is her mom’s(My Great auntie shishay) sister and it was our favorite topic to talk on that generation of our family for hours until my phone battery dies some times..
As a child I grew up around my grandparent, uncles, aunts and she remembers all of their stories which I love to hear as I miss them dearly.
She knows and remember the genealogy of our family more than any one in our family members that I know although she left the area when she was young. She amazes me.
She taught me a lot of the history our generation as she was trying to pass it on.
Meraf has been very loving, with sharp mind and accomplished women and proud of who she is and of her children.
Now I will not have anyone as Meraf I can talk to for hours on a single call about our parents, grand parents, great grand parents, uncles and aunts.
We always end our call saying ‘I Love you” and I will miss that special voice greatly!
