Michael Glenn Clawson's Obituary
Michael Glenn Clawson, age 33, passed away suddenly in an auto accident on Tuesday evening, January 24, 2012 in Fairfax County, VA. Michael was born on January 26, 1978 in St Louis, Missouri. Mike was the first- born child and a joy. His nickname was Sunshine because he was such a happy baby and child. Mike was so excited about his soon to be brother that he tried to move the crib for “his” baby into his own room. Mom gave up and let him.
Mike grew up in the radio and record industry and spent many nights back stage with the bands that became his personal heroes. It was not surprising that he followed in their footsteps.
Mike spent his life loving and giving to others. He was a rock for everyone – and rock and roll for everyone else. During a dark period in his own life he spent two months in Maine, helping his step grandmother adjust to living in a nursing home. When his grandmother almost died, it was Mike who helped to bring her back, who made her laugh and even giggle.
To meet Mike was to love and to respect him. He became the sun around which everyone wanted to gravitate. His loss has deeply saddened many people and he will live on in many, many hearts.
Mike was a floor manager with Target in Leesburg. He was a successful musician and lead singer of the band One Nightstand, whose website and facebook page (http://www.nightstandrocks.com and http://www.facebook.com/nightstandrocks).
Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his Mom Glenda and step-dad Martin Lee of Massachusetts, dad Patrick Michael Clawson and step-mom Laurie of Flint, MI; step-mom Melinda Gipson of Leesburg, VA; four brothers: Ryan Clawson of Massachusetts, Christopher Clawson of Brooklyn, NY, Jonathan Clawson of Leesburg, VA, and Rob Lee of Livermore Falls, ME; his grandmother Hazel Squire of Traverse City MI; aunts Sharon Hode of Traverse City, MI; Judy Mackey of Columbus, OH, and several cousins. Mike is also survived by his estranged wife, Kelly, his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Paula Agoney and his much loved brother-in-law: Nick Agoney, all of Plattsburgh, NY; and finally his girlfriend Marlana Del Moral of Ashburn, VA and her son Johnny.
