Michael D. Douglas' Obituary
Michael Drew Douglas, 68 of Leesburg, Virginia passed on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Michael was born Saturday, February 14, 1953, in Elberton, GA. He was the son of the late Linwood Douglas and Marilyn Haynes Owens. He is also predeceased by his brother, Charlie Owens, Jr. and sister Renee Vertolli.
Michael came from a Military family and lived all over the country growing up, and then his family settled in Virginia where he attended Loudoun Valley High School. Michael served his country in the United States Army. He was with the 612 Paratrooper Division, Fort Bragg, NC. Michael was the owner of M & M Auto Body in Laurel Maryland for over twenty years. He recently retired after almost 50 years of doing Auto Body repairs. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and sharing his life stories. He liked repairing and restoring antique cars, riding his motorcycle and boating. Michael was also passionate about his movies and loved movie theatre popcorn. He was an avid animal lover and had three cats, Oreo, Baby, and Curly.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory including, his wife Bonnie Morris Douglas, daughter, Lisa Saville of Leesburg, VA, stepson, Edward Bowley Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD, four grandchildren, Michael P. Douglas, Zachary Saville, Brecken and Alivia Bowley. He also leaves two sisters, Patricia McKinney, and Delores Skura and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Saturday July 3rd at 11:00 at Furnace Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be held at a later date.
