Michael Richard Palmer, 62, of Sterling, Virginia passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020 at INOVA Loudoun Nursing & Rehab Center in Leesburg, VA with his two daughters, Bonnie and Katie Palmer by his side.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Ingrid, father John, mother Biruta, and brother Eric. He is survived by his daughters Bonnie and Katie, twin brother Willie, brother George, step mother Grace, 11 nieces and nephews, and many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Mike, as he was known by family and friends, was born and raised in West Islip, NY where he developed a love for the water, classic rock, playing sports, the Yankees, and the Jets. He studied aircraft mechanics in New York. In 1986, he was married to his late wife Ingrid. They made their home in Sterling, VA, where they raised their two daughters. Mike worked as an airline mechanic with United Airlines for over 25 years, where he made lifelong friends and memories. On any given day you would find Mike tinkering in the garage, doing yard work, listening to music, watching sports on TV, or laughing with his friends and family.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a future date at the family’s home in Sterling, Virginia.
