I randomly saw Mitch's obituary on Washigton Post, largely on accident. I do not know Mitch or his family, but I was struck by the wit and wisdom of his tribute.
To bring levity to the obituary notice of someone who has passed demonstrates to me that the person lost brought levity and cheer to everyone in his world.
At that I probably would have said a silent prayer and clicked my browser, but then I read Mitch's own words of wisdom about the gift of love and friendship. Truly, his words are the essence of what life is all about including the magic and love that remains, even after our souls transition elsewhere. I will take Mitch's writing with me and I wanted to extend both my condolences, and my gratitude for sharing Mitch those of us who did not know him. May the angels hold his daughters and loved ones close as they navigate the grief journey.

I went to High School with Mitch. I have fond memories of a class reunion family picnic he and Tina hosted in September 2010.

Very sorry to hear of Mitch's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and close friends.

I had the privilege of working with Mitch at LCC and later at ISX when his wife became my contract officer. Mitch and Tina were basically responsible for boosting my career. When I later ran into Tina as a coworker and told her to say hi for me, I figured it was only a matter of time before I saw him again. I just wish I had worked harder at staying in touch. -glenn

One of my fondest memories with Mitch was when we, Mitch and I, put the office desks together. I read the directions, cause you know men don't do such a thing, and gave him the correct tool and parts that came next etc. We had a good time putting them together and there wasn't any leftover parts! Hahaha! Afterwards he complimented me for being so good at putting it together. It was a true sister-in-law/ brother-in-law bonding moment.

I also have to say that I loved finding different low or no carb recipes to cook for him for dinner. He loved the loaded cauliflower casserole and the creamy mushroom chicken that I made especially. He would get on this kick of eating lots of protein so I would cook a bunch of chicken tenderloins and use different seasonings for each batch and then put them in snack sized baggies for him to grab and go.

Rest in peace Mitch! I will hug your girls for you every chance I get.
