Morgan Elizabeth Schmidt Parker's Obituary
Morgan Elizabeth Schmidt Parker passed away from complications of the flu on January 30, 2025, in Lansdowne, Virginia at the age of 38.
Born on June 28, 1986, in Prince George’s County, Maryland to Mary Healey Kestner and Michael Frederick Schmidt, Morgan was born prematurely—weighing just 2.9 ounces—and wasn’t expected to make it. However, as a baby, she fought hard and proved the doctors wrong.
She was a bright, talkative child, always full of stories and laughter. She loved playing basketball, earning the nickname “Scrapper” by her teammates and coach, and she participated in choir, drama, and color guard in high school. Morgan graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Events Management where she was also a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon.
On May 26, 2012, Morgan married the love of her life, Nathan Webster Parker, and together they built their beautiful family. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Lucas Peter Parker and Thomas John Parker, who she cherished more than anything. Whether she was bowling, baking, or simply spending time with her boys, Morgan was a bright light who radiated warmth, joy, and a deep love for those around her.
Morgan is survived by her husband, Nathan Parker; her beloved sons, Luke and Tommy; her two sets of loving parents, Mary and David Kestner, Michael Schmidt and Arlene Duncan; her siblings Michael Schmidt Jr., Veronica Kestner, Kimberly Jergensen, and Jennifer Duncan; her in-laws Valerie Parker, Sally Parker, Maggie Parker, Jenny Pearce, Chelsea and Ron Black, Ben and Emily Parker; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bernard Parker.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, Virginia at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, with a reception to follow. A private interment for family will take place later at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.
Morgan’s kindness, strength, and infectious joy will be forever remembered by all who knew her. While her time with us was far too short, her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
