Col. Murray F. Rose's Obituary
Murray Fontaine Rose, Colonel, USMCR (Ret.) age 90, on Thursday, March 15, 2012, of Ashby Ponds, Ashburn, VA. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Field Rose, daughters, Patricia R. Guyette of Greenville, NC, Beverly R. Horton of Herndon, VA, and granddaughter, Sarah Rose Horton of NY. He was predeceased by grandson, James Fontaine Horton, of Herndon, and brother, Ronald S. Rose of Bracebridge, Ontario.
Col. Rose was a veteran of Guadal Canal, and other Pacific actions and was sent to Japan with the occupation troops when WWII ended. Also took part in the Inchon Landing in the Korean Conflict.
Col. Rose was employed as a Civil Engineer with the Defense Supply Agency in Alexandria for 20 years.
The family will receive friends at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel on 158 Catoctin Circle, Leesburg, VA, Friday, March 23, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 11am, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2217 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on April 10, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
