Myrtie M. Lebkicker's Obituary
Myrtie M. Lebkicker a former Alexandria City resident and then residing in Leesburg since 1988, died on July 27, 2014 at Spring Arbor a Senior Care Facility in Leesburg, VA.
Myrtie was born in Burkesville, KY on January 04, 1919 she was the last surviving child of John and Mavis Radford. She worked for C&P Telephone Company on Mt Vernon Ave in Alexandria and was promoted to supervisor and spent the rest of her career at the Pentagon where, she retired in 1980. She was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter No. 42 Order of the Eastern Star. Myrtie volunteered with the Loudoun Hospital and she was also active in the Winchester Antique Car Club with her husband Richard D. Lebkicker who predeceased her on March 1, 1995. She was also a wonderful seamstress and quilter and had a very keen sense of humor.
Myrtie is survived by her children; Barbara Hadley of Deltona, FL (Dempsey Hadley) Marion Moon of Alexandria, VA, Cheryl Oakes of Mayfield, KY and James Henderson of Leesburg, VA (Ginny Henderson); 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews .
Visitation with be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, S.E. Leesburg, VA on Thursday July 31, 2014 from 6-8 PM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Burial immediately following at Hillsboro Cemetery in Purcellville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Myrtie’s name to Capitol Caring Hospice, 24419 Millstream Drive, Aldie, VA 20105, who took such wonderful care of her in her final days.
