Myrtle "Louise" Thorpe's Obituary
Ms. Myrtle “Louise” Thorpe, life long of Loudoun, passed away at home on Friday, June 27, 2008 with her family by her side. Myrtle known to many as Louise or “Weezee” was born on August 12, 1961 in Leesburg, VA. She was a daughter of the late Daniel Burkley Umbaugh, Sr., and Mrs. Myrtle Louise Repass Umbaugh of Leesburg, VA.
Louise worked for the IGA as Asst. Manager in Purcellville, VA, for 10 years. She also worked for Loudoun County Public Schools at the Middleburg Elementary School in the Cafeteria until retiring in December of 2007 due to her illness.
Louise will be remembered by many as a people person. She loved the beach and country music.
In addition to her Mom, she is survived by her partner Jon Wisch of Leesburg; her two step-daughters, Christina Wisch & Jennifer Fitzpatrick both of Warrenton; her brother, Danny Umbaugh of Hillsboro, VA, and sister, Patty and brother-in-law, Michael W. Hardbower of Catlett, VA; two grandchildren, three nephews and one niece.
Louise was predeceased by her sister Betty Jean Umbaugh in 2003 that she affectionately referred to as Sissy.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 1, 1008, from 7 to 9 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 1:00pm.
Interment will follow in Hillsboro, VA.
