Nalini “Nina” Augusta Collins, 70, of Leesburg, Virginia passed on to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 17th, 2022, while in the company of a dear friend.
Born on August 30th, 1952, she was the youngest of eight children of Regina and Algernon Cruse in Sri Lanka.
Nina was a devout Catholic and avid reader with a passion for international travel and known for her supportive and caring nature displayed throughout her lifelong nursing career. She boasted the perfect mix of strength, raw honesty, and wit that drew in the many people she called “family.”

She also leaves behind extended family and an extremely long list of friends and “work family” from years of dedicated work at INOVA Loudoun and Loudoun Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, William Dale Collins, married in 1972, her sister, Lilamani, and two brothers, Nihal and Jayasiri, and a brother-in-law, Irvin.
