Words are inadequate
To convey the sense of loss
Of old friendship; of laughter shared.
So much more to be said,
So much more to be done,
Too soon, too soon you left us.
I wish you well
In your journey onward
Into that vast expanse -
Where all that is,
And all that can be
Is now within your grasp.
And until we whom you have left behind
Follow you in our time as we must
Know that we will remember you
Your clear stream of reason
Your insistence, always, on perfection,
And, above all,
Your fearless search for the truth
Vimala, Maya and Hari,
Please accept our condolences on the recent loss of your husband and father. We were so saddened to hear the news and you have been in our thoughts ever since. We are so honored to have known Narasimha. He was a gracious, smart, compassionate man with a quiet gentle strength that will always be remembered.

Its been a week today since Cheenu Uncle's passing and I am still deeply shocked by the news and thought of it. Cheenu Uncle is my father's younger brother by several years. I am heartened by the fact that the memories that flash through my mind as I think of him are very pleasant ones, in his home in Virginia when Sekar, Megana and I visited Cheenu Uncle and Vimala. My deepest condolonces to Vimala, Maya and Hari, also on behalf of my father, who I know is deeply saddened by his brother's sudden passing.
On behalf of my wife Prabha and my mother, Rajalakshmi Raghavan please accept our heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Cheenu.
I am Cheenu's first cousin, and am guilty of not being in touch as much as I should have (geography had something to do with that). Nevertheless, his sudden demise did come as a rude shock.
I fondly recall he being a host to my parents in Canada when they visited in 1986, after coming to see me when I was a graduate student in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, I could not join in the trip.
My earliest memories of Cheenu was as a student at UDCT and then at NCL in Pune. His stoic and quiet nature was obvious to anyone who interacted with him. My last interaction was during his visit to Rahul's marriage in Mumbai.
May his soul rest in peace!

Cheenu mama (Dr. N. S. Raghavan) was my mama (maternal uncle) and I have fond memories of him coming over to our house in Wadala to meet with my mother and father when he lived in Mumbai when I was a young boy. I also recall him coming to Kalpana and bantering with Srinivas mama and Vasumathi mami, with mama cooking up his signature dal fry. I did not meet him often when he was in Canada, but did speak to him; and did meet him a few times, though not enough, after the move to Virginia. I recall playing tennis with him and Hari on one of the trips. I will remember him as a gentle and affectionate man, who treasured his family. Of course,he also achieved a lot in his professional life. He is sorely missed by all of us.

Dr.Raghavan my brother in law was a great person. He was always there for his family. He worked in Canada, USA, & Doha. All the people he worked with were his friends and was there for all of them professionally & personally. He was there for me during my difficult times.
