I didn’t know Nick, but I do know his father and what a good man he is. Herb, my family’s prayers are with you. I hope our prayers can provide you and your family with a little comfort in these hard times.
Nick had a soft heart in a hard world. He touched my life with his kindness and authenticity. He was a warm smile after a long day, a hug after a difficult test, and he never once failed to be an encouraging voice.
Just two weeks ago, he reached out to me to be that voice once more. He said that he was happy to see that I was playing music again and made me promise to never give it up. I haven’t kept every promise I’ve made ... but I will keep this one to remember him by. He will forever be missed.
We took art together since middle school...I remember the way he always looked up from under his long lashes with a wry smile, a light dancing in his pretty eyes. He made me laugh and I always thought how cool he was without even realizing it. The sweetest soul.
