Nicholas Wultich's Obituary
Nicholas Wultich, age 94, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died at his home on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
Nicholas Wultich, son of the late Eso and Sara Njegovan Wultich, was born on July 31, 1923 in Clairton, PA. He graduated from Clairton High School in 1941. Nicholas served in the US Army in World War II as a forward observer for the 981st Field Artillery Battalion. His unit served in combat starting in Normandy through the end of the war in Germany. After the war, he graduated from Duquesne University with a B.A. in Accounting. Nicholas served as a special agent in the FBI, retiring after 28 years, mostly in Washington DC, and also including assignments in Savannah, New York and Chicago. He specialized in white collar crime investigations, and continued that work for US Congress after retiring from the FBI. He also conducted background investigations for the US State Department before fully retiring.
After retirement, he kept busy with a 70+ softball league -- travelling throughout the country and winning championships well into his late 70’s.
Nicholas met Helen Kenny while both were working at the FBI office in DC. They married on Nov 2, 1957. He is survived by Helen, their three children, Donna Wultich of Ashburn, VA and her husband Bill Irwin, Sharon Wultich of Corte Madera, CA, and Tom Wultich of Broomfield, CO, and his wife Ann, as well as 4 grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 13 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE Leesburg, VA from 6-8 pm. Services will be held at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 14 at 11 am. Internment will held Thursday, March 15th at 12 noon at Quantico National Cemetery.
