I was on board the USS Illusive MSO-448 as a recommissioning crew with Ollie from 1971 to 1975. I was an Electronics tech in charge of my Sps-5 radar. I can't imagine this world without him and his pride in his work on board ship. He went golfing in the Philippines with another shipmate and while golfing the caddy looked up into the trees and took off running. You were the best Uncle always expressing how proud you were of me. It always meant something coming from you because of how admirable of a person you were. I looked forward to seeing you as a kid every family event and you never forgot a birthday or special accomplishment of mine. You sense of humor and bear hugs that felt so good will be missed immensely. I love you and will miss you.
You were the best big brother!! I will miss asking for your advice, your Dad jokes, my yearly birthday card with three dollars in it and our monthly zoom calls. My grandkids thought it was so cool that your name was Olaf like the snowman in Frozen. Love and miss you every day!! Your baby sister

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Olaf. He was a knowledgeable confidant, a passionate advocate, and a fierce friend to everyone at the Integration and Interoperability Facility at the FAA Tech Center in New Jersey. His dedication and warmth left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him.
Our thoughts are with Rose Mary and the entire family during this difficult time. May Olaf rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us.
Love you Dad and will miss you always. I appreciate everything you did for me growing up. You were the best role model of what a father should be. You worked hard to provide for your family while going to night school for your degrees. But you always had time for Jason and I—Throwing the football or playing wiffle ball on the side yard or coaching one of our sports teams. For most things you said “Go ask your mother”, but you were clear with us about how important character, honesty and effort was and that stayed with us as adults. Jason and I passed it on to our kids because of you.
Will miss our conversations about football on Sundays and your fantasy football team strategy. Will miss your stories at the holidays but luckily I have heard them all so many times that I can recite them for others.
I hope I made you proud. I know I will forever be proud to be your son. Love you and miss you Dad. Erik
